Larry Chiasson

Edmonton's Larry Chiasson put 49 watt tourist information station VF5061 on the air at Maple Creek. On-air tests for 99.3 NOW got underway in November and the station was expected to launch early in 2018. The station had a studio inside the Cobble Creek Lodge. Chiasson said the station would "be doing local weather, news, events, but it’s not going to be like your typical tourist radio station, it’s going to be community involvement and what’s going on around town.” Stations of this type no longer required CRTC approval to operate.

Effective September 1st 2019, we will only be adding new material to these station histories in exceptional circumstances. Our intent to chronicle the early days of these radio and television stations has been achieved, and many new sources and technologies, from the
CRTC website to Wikipedia, and others, are now regularly providing new information in these areas.
