Sophie

Broadcast Run:
2008 to 2009
Broadcast Medium:
Television

Debuted Wednesday January 9, 2008 at 8:30PM.

This half-hour comedy centered on the story of Sophie Parker, a good-looking,

                            Natalie Brown as Sophie

pregnant, successful businesswoman, who learned that her fiancé was cheating on her and that her company was on the verge of bankruptcy: all in one day. Her story of coping with being a single parent and the quirky friends and family members that tried to help her, offered enough devices to make a decent weekly sit-com in the best tradition of The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Judging Amy.

The program also had a good time-slot following Little Mosque on the Prairie on Wednesdays at 8:30pm.

The series returned to the schedule on October 1st 2008, but in April 2009 the CBC announced that Sophie would not be renewed for the 2009-2010 season.
