Septième Nord

Broadcast Run:
1963 to 1967
Broadcast Medium:
Television

A TV soap opera written by Guy Dufresne, Septième-Nord described the suffering, difficulties and joys of the staff and patients in a Montreal hospital.

From 1963 (first broadcast on September 29) to 1967, Radio-Canada aired 162 episodes of Septième-Nord. This TV soap opera, directed by André Bousquet, starred Jean-Louis Roux, Benoît Girard, Monique Miller and Janine Sutto.

At the time, the author took the risk of having a few swearwords fall from the lips of one of the characters, which gave rise to numerous letters of protest being sent to Radio-Canada.
