Based on three novels by Victor-Lévy Beaulieu, the TV soap opera Race de monde examined generational conflict and confrontation between social classes through the lens of the lives of a single family.

From 1978 to 1981, Radio-Canada aired 103 episodes of Race de monde. This TV soap opera, directed by Maurice Falardeau, Aimé Forget, Jean Gadoua, Guy Hoffmann, Geneviève Houle, Jean-Yves Laforce and Gilles Sénécal, starred Paul Hébert, Robert Rivard, Monique Aubry and Jean-Luc Montminy.
