Commonwealth Televiews

Aired Sunday afternoons in winter of 1957 and the spring of 1958

This short series of six-15 minute programs was designed to share stories from other nations in the Commonwealth. It was intended to offer Canadians some insight into other cultures. A range of subjects included a profile of modern living in the town of Harlow; an interview on atomic energy, with Sir John Cockcroft. An interview with Sir Robert Scott, Commissioner-General for Southeast Asia, by the CBC's Matthew Halton; a program on the Arts Council of Great Britain; and an interview with the Prime Minister of the Gold Coast, Kwame Nkrumah.
