First Five Years, The
Aired weekly, during the afternoon, from October 1971 to May 1974.
Dr. Bette Stephenson was the host of this weekly 30-minute program, about pre-school children. It was focused on the parent/child relationship in the early years of growth, hence the title of the program.
The series was first produced regionally, in Toronto, then added to the network schedule in 1973. Lloyd Robertson and Harry Brown shared voice-over duties on the series. Dodi Robb produced the program from Toronto.
Dr. Bette Stephenson later served as Health Minister in the provincial government of Ontario.
