Canadian Film Makers

Aired Sunday afternoons from January 6 to March 31, 1974.
In 1967, the CBC had broadcast a similar program that drew talent from the National Film Board of Canada. This new 30 minute program featured short films solely from the independent community.
Movies had to be prescreened and up to the technical standards of the CBC and the regulatory requirements of the CRTC, but most of the films were experimental in nature. Submissions were received from across the country and each producer was paid around $3000 per half-hour.
Selected titles:
Space Child by Dennis Millar
To a Very Old Woman by Paul Quigley
Progressive Insanities of a Pioneer Farmer, also by Paul Quigley
Carpathian Tales, by Jerczy Fijalkowski
Limestoned, by Rene Bonniere
Amherst Island, by Gil Taylor
Not Far From Home, by Don Owen
As We Were, by Marty Gross
Producers: Beverly Roberts and Julius Kohanyi
