On June 3rd 2010, the CTV network announced that popular broadcasting personality Marilyn Denis, whose CityLine series had run on City TV and the A Channel for eleven years, and who had previously hosted or co-hosted several radio morning shows, would soon have her own new one-hour celebrity guest talk show on the network.

The Marilyn Denis Show would be broadcast at 10am weekdays, starting in the Fall.   "It's going to be a show about life and fun and friends, and we can't wait to get started," said Marilyn.

 The series made its debut on September 20th 2010, and continued into the New Year. It was renewed for the 2011-2012 season, and on May 31st 2012 CTV announced that the Marilyn Denis Show would start its third season in the Fall of 2012. 

The show continued to be a success for the network over the years, and was renewed for a sixth season on June 3rd 2015, followed by a seventh and an eighth series, which took it into the CTV 2017-18 season.   The series returned for its ninth season in September 2018.

On June 6th 2019, at its Upfront Presentation, CTV  confirmed that the Marilyn Denis Show would return to the schedule for the 2019-2010 season.
