In this series, created by Roger Lemelin, there were, in addition to the characters from the Plouffe family, those of the Chevalier family who lived En haut de la pente douce, in the heart of Quebec City. The series made its debut on October 7th 1959.

From 1959 to 1961, Radio-Canada broadcast 76 episodes of the series. Directed by Jean Dumas and Guy Leduc, this serial drama starred Amanda Alarie, Roland Chenail, Louis Turenne and Yvon Thiboutot.
