In the TV soap opera Dominique, the writer Antoine Lefebvre (actually, Réal Giguère) recounted the difficulties encountered by a young 39-year old widow who had to raise her two children.

From 1977 to 1979, Télé-Métropole aired 67 episodes of Dominique. This TV soap opera was directed by Claude Colbert, Michel Petit and Pierre Sainte-Marie and notably starred Dominique Michel (Dominique Dupuis), Vincent Bilodeau (Pierre-Luc Dupuis) and Mireille Daoust (Geneviève Dupuis).
