On June 3rd 2010, CTV announced that in 2011 it would be broadcasting Season 1 of a new international coproduction recounting the history of an infamous European family, The Borgias.

The Canada/Hungary/Ireland co-production eventually premiered on April 3rd 2011 on Bravo! in Canada and on Showtime in the U.S .

On May 9th,2011 it was announced that The Borgias would have its CTV Network premiere on June 21st. 

The cast  included Jeremy Irons as Rodrigo Borgia, Colm Feore as CardinalGiuliano Della Rovere, and François Arnaud as Cesare Borgia.The Executive Producers were Sheila Hockin, John Weber, James Flynn and Neil Jordan.

Production Company: Take 5 Productions, in association with Bravo!, CTV and Showtime Networks.    

The series ran for two seasons and was cancelled in 2013.
