Big Brother Canada

Broadcast Run:
2015
Broadcast Medium:
Television

Big Brother Canada first played on the Slice specialty channel in 2013 and 2014, before moving over to the Global Network in 2015. Based on a Dutch TV series, a U.S. version of Big Brother had been playing in the U.S. on CBS, as well as on Global in Canada, since the year 2000.  This reality game show required contestants to live cut off from the rest of the world in a custom-built house, where they would take part in competitive games in pursuit of a $100,000 prize.  The contestants, known as House Guests, could not leave the house at any time, or break any rules, on pain of disqualification.

In June 2017 Global declared their intention to cancel the series, but there was such a pubic outcry that this decision was soon reversed, with a new season promised for 2018.
