Prime Time

Broadcast Run:
1986 to 1993
Broadcast Medium:

This half-hour showbiz magazine series ran on CBC Radio from 1986 to 1993 at 8:05 pm Monday to Friday.  Its original host was Stan Carew, as a companion piece to Stan’s other series, The Entertainers, which ran on weekends.

In the fall of 1987, Ralph Benmergui took over as host of both programs, with Jim Slotek (television) and Geoff Pevere (movies)

among the regular contributors to Prime Time. In 1989, Pevere took over from Benmergui as host of Prime Time, at which point the series began to deal with more serious issues, along with the entertainment spots.

The series was cancelled in 1993.
