Kim's Convenience

On March 4th 2015, the CBC announced that they had committed to Thunderbird Films and Soulpepper Theatre for the production of a series of thirteen half-hour comedies adapted from the award-wining play Kim's Convenience, co written by Ins Choi and Kevin White. The story featured a fiery patriarch struggling with changes within his family, business and their community of Regent Park in Toronto

Workin' Moms

Workin' Moms was a Canadian television sitcom that premiered on CBC Television on January 10, 2017. The show starred Catherine Reitman, Jessalyn Wanlim, Dani Kind and Juno Rinaldi as a group of friends dealing with the challenges of being working mothers. The series was produced by Wolf + Rabbit Entertainment, the production company of Reitman and her husband Philip Sternberg.

Tallboyz

A new half-hour sketch comedy series, Tallboy premiered on CBC September 17th 2019.  It starred the four members of acclaimed Toronto-based sketch comedy troupe TallBoyz II Men - Vance Banzo, Guled Abdi, Franco Nguyen, and Tim Blair, who alternated between playing heightened versions of themselves and sliding into cartoonish sketches about friendship, politics, bro culture and everyday life.

Family Feud Canada

At their Upfront Presentation on May 29th 2019, the CBC announced that Family Feud Canada, which, they said,  "hopes to inject a distinctly Canuck flavour into the long-running game show format", would be part of the slate of new programming  to be seen on CBC Television in the 2019-2020 season.

Actor and comedian Gerry Dee would host the series.

On December 16th 2019, the CBC launched the Canadian version of a game show series that had been running in the U.S. since 1976.  FAMILY FEUD CANADA was described by the CBC as “the only iconic TV show featuring 2 families competing to guess the most popular answers to fun, family-friendly survey questions”.

The Detectives

The Detectives was an eight-part, 60-minute factual series that brought to life the work of real detectives by blending  documentary storytelling with fully dramatized re-enactments.

Every episode featured a different detective reliving the investigation that not only challenged them like no other, but also had a residual impact on an aspect of Canadian life and law enforcement.

Coroner

Coroner was a one-hour drama about Jenny Cooper, a coroner who investigated unexplained or sudden deaths in the city of Toronto. Fierce and quick-witted, Jenny was a newly-widowed single mother, and was played by Serinda Swan, with Roger Cross in a co-starring role.

The one-hour series premiered on CBC on January 7th, 2019, and ran for eight weeks to February 25th.   On March 25th the CBC announced that the series had been renewed for a further eight episodes.
