CityNews Channel

On December 10, 2008, Rogers Media received CRTC approval for a specialty channel licence for CityNews Channel, and the operation launched on October 3, 2011. The channel cut live broadcasts in May of 2013 due to the bad economy. CityNews Channel continued to operate its news ticker, traffic camera feeds and weather maps. On October 1, 2013, at the request of Rogers, the CRTC revoked the licence for the channel.
