1967
The BBG approved a new station at Lac Megantic. The bulk of its programming would come from CKLD Thetford Mines at first but gradually the new station would become fully independent. A few hours of local programming would be offered daily. The new station would broadcast on 1340 kHz with a full-time power of 250 watts (directional during the day). It would be a CBC affiliate.

1968
On March 6, CKFL 1340 began broadcasting. It was owned by Radio Megantic Ltee.
 
1972
On March 21, CKFL was authorized to affiliate with a new network to be operated by Radio Megantic Ltd. The network would be called Radio Apalache and would also connect CKLD Thetford Mines, CFDA Victoriaville and the proposed new AM at Plessisville.

On June 14, Radio Megantic was authorized to change CKFL's frequency to 1400 kHz from 1340 kHz and to operate with a non-directional pattern rather than a directional one.

CKFL moved from 1340 to 1400 kHz.

1979
On June 8, Radio Megantic Ltee was given approval to have CKFL disaffiliate from Radio-Canada and join Le Reseau Telemedia. Radio-Canada was granted an FM licence for the area in 1978 and would maintain a modified affiliation agreement with CKFL until FM receiver ownership was at sufficient level in the region.

1984
On December 13, CKFL was authorized to increase night-time power from 250 watts to 1,000 watts.

1991
Radio Mégantic Ltée sold CKFL to Communéquipe Inc.

1994
Communéquipe Inc. sold CKFL to Radio Plus Lac-Mégantic Inc.

1998
Radio Plus Lac Mégantic inc. sold CKFL to Radio Gaé-Rit Lac Mégantic.

2000
On December 15, CKFL was given approval to convert to the FM band, operating on 106.7 MHz with an effective radiated power of 4,250 watts. Shortly thereafter, the station moved to the FM band, becoming CJIT-FM.

2006
On September 7th, the CRTC administratively authorized the company Les Productions du temps perdu to assume temporarily the management of CJIT-FM, pending a formal hearing regarding a permanent transfer of ownership.

2007
On March 12, Les Productions du temps perdu inc. received permission to acquire CJIT-FM from 9063-0104 Québec inc., doing business under the name of Radio Gaé-Rit Lac Mégantic. Les Productions du temps perdu was controlled by Louis Longchamps. The new licence for the station was to expire on August 31st 2013.
