Saskatchewan CFCR-FM (Community), Saskatoon, Saskatoon Radio Society of Saskatoon1991 On July 2, Community Radio Society of Saskatoon Inc. was awarded a licence for an English-language community FM station, operating on 90.5 MHz with an effective radiated power of 180 watts. In addition to English, the new station would also provide some programming to the French, German, Chinese and East Indian communities. CFCR-FM officially signed on the air on September 7 at 3:19 p.m. The community based station will broadcast programming 128 hours a week. More than 90 volunteers will host programs. On the weekends the station will feature ethnic programs representing 13 cultures.
