2002
On January 10, Nor-Com Electronics Ltd. (Norm Rudock) was given approval to operate a new FM station at Nipawin, operating on 94.7 MHz with effective radiated power of 14,800 watts. The station would offer a mixed music format: "golden oldies" and older soft "adult contemporary" from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and "classic rock" after 5:00 p.m. All of the programming would be station-produced and target an audience aged between 25 and 55 years. The communities of Nipawin, White Fox, Codette, Pontrilas and Love would fall within the station’s primary service contour (3 mV/m contour).

2005
On February 23, CJNE FM Radio Inc. received  authority to acquire from Nor-Com Electronics Ltd., as part of a corporate reorganization, CJNE-FM Nipawin and low-power VF2212 Carrot River. The CRTC  noted that, further to the corporate reorganization, the assets would be transferred from Nor-Com, a company owned by Norman Rudock, to CJNE, another of Mr. Rudock’s companies. As a result, the control of the undertakings would not be affected as it would continue to be exercised by Mr. Rudock.

2006
On September 20, CJNE FM Radio Inc. was authorized to amend the licence for VF2212 Carrot River, by changing the program source from "with local programming and programs received from CFMI-FM Vancouver", to "with local programming and programs received from CFMI-FM and from CJNE-FM Nipawin". The licensee stated that the proposed change would allow it to continue to augment its local programming with programming received from CFMI-FM, and to add to that morning programming from Nipawin between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on weekdays. CJNE stated that it would continue to broadcast three hours of locally-originated programming in the English and Cree languages each week. 

The Carrot River transmitter was first licenced to Nor-Com on May 17, 1993 as a radiocommunication distribution undertaking, operating on 88.1 MHz with an effective radiated power of 1 watt, to rebroadcast the programs of CFMI-FM Vancouver received via satellite from the CANCOM network. The licence for
VF2212 was upgraded July 29, 1999 to that of a low-power transmitter. It would continue to rebroadcast CFMI-FM Vancouver, but also offer three hours a week of locally-originated programming in the English and Cree languages. Operations continued on 88.1 MHz but effective radiated power increased to 13 watts. 

Approval was granted January 11, 2001 to change the frequency for the Carrot River transmitter from 88.1 MHz to 101.1 MHz, with an increase in effective radiated power from 13 to 15 watts.

2007
Approval was granted for a change in ownership of CJNE-FM Radio Inc. (CJNE-FM Nipawin and VF2212 Carrot River) through a transfer by Norman Rudock of 50% of the voting shares to Treana Rudock. The effective control would continue to be exercised by Norman Rudock, pursuant to the Shareholders’ Agreement.

On July 16, CJNE's application for the operation of a transmitter at Tisdale (95.7 MHz with effective radiated power of 45 watts) was denied. CJNE wanted to strengthen its signal in Tisdale and the surrounding area as many Tisdale residents and businesses had expressed disappointment at being unable to receive CJNE-FM clearly.
