CFCW-FM, Edmonton/Camrose, NewCap Inc.

2003
On December 19, Newcap Inc. was awarded a licence for a new FM station at Camrose, operating on 98.1 MHz with an effective radiated power of 50,000 watts. The new station would offer a Classic Hits music format to complement the Country programming offered by sister station CFCW-AM.

2005
On September 8, the new station began testing its signal with classic hit music and "Star 98" station IDs.

At 4 p.m. on Friday, September 30th, CFCW-FM signed on the air as "Big Earl 98.1 FM...He plays anything country!" Studios and offices were in Camrose and at the West Edmonton Mall.

On December 12th at 9:00 a.m., Big Earl’s country format moved to sister station 96.3 CKRA in Edmonton. CFCW-FM Camrose became known as “CAM-FM 98 dot 1… Greatest Hits of All Time”.
