On May 19, Radio Fredericton Inc. received a licence for a French-language radio station at Fredericton. It would operate on 99.5 MHz with an effective radiated power of 30 watts, and would broadcast programs related to the activities of the "Festival francophone de Fredericton".

 

1996

On October 24, Radio Fredericton Inc. was licenced to operate a French-language Type A Community FM station at Fredericton, on frequency 90.5 MHz, with an effective radiated power of 840 watts. The station would broadcast 40 hours of local programming per week and the remaining 86 hours of programming each week would originate from CITE-FM Montréal.

 

1997

CJPN-FM signed on the air. Studios and offices were at the Sainte-Anne Community Center, 715 Priestman Street in Fredericton. The antenna was located atop this building.

 

1998

Radio Fredericton Inc. was authorized to increase the ERP for CJPN-FM from 840 watts to 1,560 watts. The licensee also proposed to move the existing antenna from its site at the Sainte-Anne Community Centre building and to install it on an NB Tel tower located several hundred feet from the original site. 

 

2007

On May 22 the CRTC renewed CJPN-FM's licence until August 31, 2014.
