On July 16, Cogeco Radio-Télévision inc. was awarded a licence for a new FM station, operating on 91.9 MHz with an effective radiated power of 4,500 watts.

2003

CJEC Rythme FM began testing in August and signed on the air later in the year.

The corporate name changed to Cogeco Diffusion Inc. from Cogeco Radio-Télévision inc.

2008

On December 5 the CRTC renewed CJEC-FM's licence until August 31, 2012. The Commission had reviewed the application for licence renewal and the licensee's file and noted that the licensee was in apparent non-compliance with its condition of licence relating to CTD contributions. More specifically, the licensee was late in paying a portion of its CTD contributions over three consecutive years. Given that this was the first time that this licensee had been found to be in non-compliance, the Commission determined that it was appropriate to renew the licence for CJEC-FM for a short-term period of four years. This short-term renewal would enable the Commission to assess at an earlier date the licensee's compliance with the Radio Regulations, 1986 and with the station's conditions of licence.

2010

On December 17, the CRTC approved the transfer of a number of commercial radio stations from Corus Entertainment to Cogeco Inc. Cogeco already owned CJEC-FM and CJMF-FM in Quebec City. With the purchase of the Corus stations, the Quebec cluster would now include CFOM-FM and CFEL-FM. Since Cogeco had committed to divesting itself of two stations in the Québec radio market, namely CJEC-FM Québec and CFEL-FM Lévis/Québec, the Commission was of the view that the transaction was in compliance with the Policy and that it did not raise any additional concern for the market. The Commission accordingly required that Cogeco divest itself of CJEC-FM and CFEL-FM no later than one year from the date of the decision and that in the interim ownership and control of the stations be transferred to a trustee pursuant to terms of the voting trust agreement addressed in Broadcasting Decision 2010-943.

2012

On June 22, the CRTC administratively renewed the licence for CJEC-FM until November 30, 2012.

The CRTC approved the change to the effective control of CJEC inc. and CFEL inc., from the trustee Fernand Belisle to Jacques Leclerc through his control of 99.7% of the voting rights of Leclerc Communications inc., the purchaser of the two entities. CJEC inc. was the licensee of CJEC-FM Québec and CFEL inc. was the licensee of CFEL-FM Québec.

CJEC changed format from Hot Adult Contemporary-Rhythmic (Rythme 91.9) to Triple A.

On October 22, the CRTC renewed CJEC-FM's licence to August 31, 2015. This short-term renewal would allow for an earlier review of the licensee's compliance with the Radio Regulations, 1986 and its conditions of licence.
